Plant Communitas Workshop

This ekphrastic writing workshop will take the new Plant Communitas exhibition at The Museum in the Park (Stroud, Gloucestershire) as inspiration, re-centering plants in our imagination as active agents and sentient beings in relationship with the human and nonhuman.

We’ll reimagine plants through our writing, using the work of local and international artists in the exhibition as a jumping off point to explore the central themes of plant as totem of colonial (plantation) economies, as luxury good, medicine, romantic utopia, exotic archive, invasive species, right plant in the wrong place.

This fun, experimental and interactive workshop will be suitable for all levels and forms, from beginners to more advanced writers of poetry and prose.

For adults and young people aged 16+.

With JLM Morton in the Walled Garden Pavilion of the Museum in the Park.

Location: The Museum in the Park, Gloucestershire, GL5 4AF
