The Long Light: A Summer Solstice Writing Workshop

The Long Light: a summer solstice writing workshop

High summer is a season rich with possibility. It is a time of abundant growth and harvest, the peak of nature’s bounty. Fields are full, the warm woodland floor darkens with the leaf cover in the canopy above, fruits and vegetables are ripening – everyone, it seems, is out and about enjoying the fullness of the year. The sun itself – and the solstice - is a powerful symbol of vitality and sustenance.

This time of change in routine, time of freedom and adventure, is also a time of powerful heat and storms, day outbalancing night, intensity and volatility, as well as uncertain weather in our changing climate. For this seasonal workshop timed to coincide with the solstice, we’ll write into these themes, sparking new writing and ideas for future development.

Suitable for anyone interested in writing - emerging, aspiring, established and everything in between! A chance to be inspired and check in with your creative practice.

This workshop will take place on Zoom.

Tuesday 16th June 2026, 6pm - 8pm.
