Tom Sears

Tom Sears is a writer and illustrator of picture books. The Biggest Footprint (Canongate), created together with his brother Rob, visualised the entire human race smooshed together into one huge clumsy giant. It won the 2022 Wainwright Prize for children’s nature writing, and was included in The Times best books of 2022. Their new book together, A Tree Is A Time Machine, is published by Hachette in September 2025. It’s a non-fiction graphic novel about time, narrated by a 4,000 year old yew tree called Eunice.
